About Me:
Hello, my name is Jack.
I offer one-to-one therapy and peer mentoring for adults over the age of 18. I work face-to-face in Oxford as well as online. My approach to counselling is integrative, meaning I am not tied to one specific approach, such as CBT. Instead, I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches to best fit your specific circumstances and goals. These approaches include person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, and DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy). I offer a safe, empathetic, non-judgemental space to explore whatever is going on for you, with a qualified professional who can help to guide you through that process. What this looks like in practice is unique to each individual, but it may involve exploring the past or a specific incident, examining your relationships with others, or working to develop greater self-acceptance.
I previously worked in a private autism and ADHD service, supporting diagnostic assessments, providing 1-to-1 support to individuals and their families, and providing training on neurodivergence to organisations including NHS trusts and other healthcare professionals. From this, as well as my counselling work, I have extensive experience providing pre- and post-diagnostic support to autistic individuals, ADHDers, and AuDHDers. I also have extensive experience supporting individuals identifying as LGBTQ+ and, as a queer person myself, have a deep understanding of the issues impacting these communities, in particular trans and non-binary communities.
