About Me:
I’m the founder and director of Free2BMe and neurodiversity is my professional passion. I am multiply neurodivergent, late diagnosed and have a particular interest in the experiences of adult diagnosed neurodivergent humans, as well as the role of nature, animals and the outdoors in neurodivergent wellbeing. Alongside Free2BMe, I work as a clinical lead in a mental health service and have previously worked as a lecturer, as a therapist in trauma, EAP and SARC settings, with emergency service workers and in crisis services.
Neurodivergence is always welcomed and accepted in all aspects of my practice. I offer a safe space to explore what being neurodivergent means and what a good neurodivergent life looks like for my clients. I integrate trauma-informed approaches into my practice, including trauma-focused CBT. I am happy to adapt the environment and the therapy as much as possible to make it accessible and comfortable.
I design and facilitate most of Free2BMe’s training courses, including the Free2BMe CPD Certificate in Neurodiversity Affirming Practice and offer bespoke training and consultancy services to a wide variety of organisations across the UK, including counselling and psychotherapy services, mental health charities, universities and therapy training institutions.
I am also a clinical supervisor, specialising in supporting practitioners working with neurodivergent clients in mental health settings. Neurodivergent therapists are of course particularly welcome! I work on either an ongoing basis or I can offer my expertise and support for particular clients or groups you may be working with on an ad hoc/consultancy basis. I also offer supervision group facilitation.
In my life outside the therapy room, exercise and nature are essential for my wellbeing. I am a volunteer animal carer at Pigs in the Wood in West Yorkshire, I enjoy going to the gym, cycling and walking my dog.
